Riding on the Energy of NaNoWriMo

Riding on the Energy of NaNoWriMo

I’ve decided to participate in NaNoWriMo for the month of Nov.

For those of you who don’t know what that is, National Novel Writing Month is a non-profit organization that encourages writers to write 50,000 words in the month of November. Thousands of people participate from all over the world and write novels, memoirs, daily essays and it’s a hoot to play along.

I did NaNoWriMo three years ago and I reached the goal of 50,000 words, which is now a manuscript for a memoir I have in my desk drawer awaiting revision.

I loved the whole energy of doing the writing along with many others. It was a Herculean effort.

This year I decided to take the positive energy of NaNoWriMo and use it to write in my blog for 30 days. I will not reach the required 1600 word deadline at the end of each day, but I will have a blog post about my new life in my new studio.

Paintings will accompany each post and at the end of November I hope to have a better understanding of the power of blogging along with some new followers. So please share this blog if you feel so moved.

I work great under deadlines and a blog a day will be most challenging in the best way.

See you tomorrow when I post photos of my brand new studio, which is the inspiration for my new body of work called “On the Horizon.”
